Katherine Szocik, Research Assistant, received her M.A. in Early Childhood Special Education in 2016 from The Catholic University of America. She received her B.A. from Oberlin College where she studied Theatre and Latin America.

With FERA, Katherine has been responsible for proof reading data summaries, coding and finding themes in qualitative data, and participating in evaluation design workshops. Katherine is a full time early childhood educator and has lent her expertise in this field to evaluations such as IFF Learning Spaces and Impact Detroit: Hope Starts Here.

Katherine has specific interests in improving access and equity in education, especially for youth with special needs. She has spent time in Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica, and is fluent in Spanish.
