S. Olivia Jefferson
S. Olivia Jefferson, Consultant, is a recent graduate of the Master’s of Social Work program at the University of Michigan where she focused on Management of Human Services and Social Policy and Evaluation. Olivia is determined to eliminate racial disparities in the health care and child welfare system. She is interested in program development and the management of health systems. Olivia has experience facilitating focus groups, conducting interviews, coding qualitative data, and analyzing quantitative data using Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and STATA.
Before entering the MSW program, Olivia worked for the Vaccines for Children program as a Quality Assurance Specialist providing technical assistance and vaccine administration education to Detroit medical providers to protect children from vaccine preventable diseases. Her research interests include gender inequalities, social determinants of health, and African American foster youth—specifically the barriers that prevent them from receiving adequate mental and physical health services.
